In collaboration with BC Applied Arts, The Illustration Academy is attending Planet Comicon the weekend of May 20-22. In addition to hosting guests such as Stan Lee and film director Kevin Smith, Planet Comicon has invited two Illustration Academy instructors as their honorable guests. Both George Pratt and Bill Sienkiewicz, who are instructing at The Illustration Academy this summer, will be attending one of the largest show in the midwest region.
The Illustration Academy and BC Applied Arts have a number of exciting and entertaining events scheduled for the weekend. Our booth is #1929 and we highly encourage artists to stop by and visit with our founder, John English and acclaimed graphic novel artist, George Pratt. George Pratt will be signing prints throughout the week for free and Bill Sienkiewicz will be making an appearance at our booth for a print signing on Saturday.
COSPLAY LIFE DRAWING WITH THE ILLUSTRATION ACADEMY
About: Join graphic novelist George Pratt and acclaimed illustrator John English for Cosplay Figure Drawing with The Illustration Academy! Several of Planet Comicon’s outstanding cosplayers will be modeling at this special event. Pratt has received the Eisner Award for Best Painted Graphic Novel and is consistently included in Spectrum and Society of Illustrators Annuals. George Pratt, along with iconic comic book artist Bill Sienkiewicz will be instructing at The Illustration Academy Summer Workshop 2016.

About: Eisner Award winning artists Bill Sienkiewicz and George Pratt discuss comics and illustration, their influences, inspirations, and motivations. It will cover the careers of both artists, their beginnings, mistakes, failures, and successes. Sienkiewicz is an Emmy-nominated artist, best known for revamping the style of graphic novel illustration from 1980 onward. Pratt received the Eisner Award for Best Painter and received a Spectrum Gold Medal.

About: Eisner Award winning artist Bill Sienkiewicz will be signing posters at The Illustration Academy booth shortly after his panel with The Illustration Academy and George Pratt. Sienkiewicz is an Emmy-nominated artist, best known for revamping the style of graphic novel illustration from 1980 onward. He created groundbreaking movie promotional art for The Dark Knight, The Grinch, Unforgiven and the hit video game Resident Evil.
