Illustration Academy Hosts Cosplay Life Drawing at Planet Comicon

In collaboration with Planet Comicon Kansas City, The Illustration Academy is hosting a Cosplay Life Drawing Event at the region’s largest premier comic book and pop culture convention. The 2016 show will be held at Bartle Hall, the weekend of May 20-22. Tickets are still open to the public.

Cosplay Life Drawing with The Illustration Academy

  • ABOUT: Join graphic novelist George Pratt and acclaimed illustrator John English for Cosplay Figure Drawing with The Illustration Academy! Several of Planet Comicon’s most impressive cosplayers will be modeling for all of the artists in attendance at this special event. Pratt has received the Eisner Award for Best Painted Graphic Novel and is consistently included in Spectrum and Society of Illustrators Annuals. George Pratt, along with iconic comic book artist Bill Sienkiewicz will be instructing at The Illustration Academy Summer Workshop 2016. Admission is free.
  • WHEN: Friday, May 20, 5-7 pm 
  • WHERE: The Cantina, Room 2501D (Lower Level) Casual seating and dining area. Directions from the Exhibit Hall: Cross the skywalk to the east, go down the escalator, continue east down the hallway until you reach the corner, turn right and continue to the end of the hallway, past the Grand Ballroom. The Cantina is at the end of the hallway on your right.

Planet Comicon Kansas City is the region’s largest premier comic book and pop culture convention with a 17-year history.  It has grown to be the largest show in the Kansas City area. It is scheduled for the weekend of May 20-22.

The 2016 show will be held at Bartle Hall in downtown Kansas City. Passes are still available for the 2016 event. Star guests this year include Kevin Smith, Stan Lee, Illustration Academy instructors, Bill Sienkiewicz and George Pratt, and many more.
